Sean V. Bradley: How to Win The Game of Googleopoly

What is Googleopoloy? 

Google has 67% market share of search and is the number one search engine world, and what is crazy is the number two search engine is YouTube which is owned by Google. So it is safe to say that when it comes to online search, Google has the Monopoly. 

It is safe to say that everyone has heard of and or played the board game Monopoly and knows exactly what the object of that game is which is to lock things down! Control the board. Own it all. 

That is the same idea behind “Googleopoly”.  It is about accomplishing that same kind of domination but on the search engine Google rather than the board game Monopoly.

If you are a front line car sales professional, a internet director or the dealer principal him or herself, if you are looking to build a audience and gain visibility you need a “Googleopoly” strategy. 

Here is a quick rundown on how to execute a successful Googleopoly strategy that Sean V Bradley breaks down in this session. 

1. A Website Properly Optimized 

It should be a no brainer that a automotive dealership has a fully optimized website in todays market but where a lot of so called “automotive sales professionals” are missing the boat is by having their own personal website. 

It is not just about having a website but more so about having a AWESOME website with the onsite SEO executed properly.

In todays market you are not player if you do not have a website and your home base for your “Googleopoly” strategy is your website. It doesn’t matter if you are front line car sales professional, you need a website just as much as a entire dealership in todays market place. 

2.Video Seo 

Online video creates superstars! There is nothing more powerful when it comes to getting noticed as online video and YouTube (which you know is owned by Google) is the number second most popular search engine in the world as well as one of the top 3 most visited websites in the world. 

Video is 53% more likely to be clicked on in a search engine and not only that Google is looking for YouTube videos optimized properly so your chances of indexing and ranking on page one of Google are much higher when you use video. 

3.Social Media Optimization 


Social Media is another very important piece to your “Googleopoly” strategy. We all know by now the importance of social proof and the roll it plays in selling more cars but are you maximizing on its potential to help you dominate Google? 

There are several social channels that if optimized properly can contribute tremendously to your “Googleopoly” strategy and Google page one domination.  

4.Online Reputation Optimization 


Think about when you are booking a hotel out of town or ordering something you have never purchased before from Amazon, what is one of the first things you do? You got it, you read online reviews. 

Online reviews have become such a major decision and influence factor in todays market place it is impossible to ignore them. Not only are reviews a big part of the purchase/decision process they are also a major part of a “Googleopoly” strategy. 

Learn how to leverage your dealerships reviews and testimonials to help you dominate page one of Google. 

5.Mobile Optimization 

With 50% plus of all web traffic coming from mobile devices it is crucial that you make sure your website is optimized for mobile search. 

Just because your “desktop version” of your website is ranking and indexing with Google, does not mean when someone searches the exact same keywords on Google from their mobile device that your site will rank the same. 

Do you know the difference between a “mobile website”, an “mobile adaptive website” and also a “mobile responsive website”? Do you know which one Google recommends?

6.Focus Sites/Micro Sites

If you are a Hyundai dealer in Maryland, a great example of a focus/micro site would be where you could post videos and other content about the Hyundai Sonata and how/where to buy one in Maryland. Make sense?

Here is another example. Lets say you are that same Hyundai dealer in Maryland. would be another example and on this site you would post content that is focused on why you should buy the Hyundai Sonata instead of the Honda Accord.

But I want to save it for him. You know, it's obviously a topic that I'm Super Geeky about, you know, talking about how to dominate in search. Will Save it for him, Mr Shawn v Bradley, who's going to share with you a little bit, a little glimpse into what we're calling the Google appoly strategy. Here we go, let's do it all right, guys, we are sitting down with the CEO of Dealer Synergy and author of win the game of Google appoly. You know what, this book is an incredible resource for those of you who want to kick things up a notch online. We're talking, you know, in car sales, we're talking in whatever your personal endeavors...

...will be, how to take Google and use it as a resource that you can leverage to increase profitability, enhance your brand or whatever your goals and ambitions are. We're sitting down with the author today, Mr Shaan v Bradley, CSP Sean, thanks for being on the show. Your our first repeat guest says. I mean I'm special. I mean I'd say pretty special. I mean, you know, yeah, absolutely. Thanks for being with us today. You know, we want to just kind of turn this over to you because we're excited to hear about this project. You've been working on it and we've seen on social how involved this has been for you. But let me ask you what what was the the the driving force for you to author and publish this book? Okay, there's two parts to answer that question. The first is on a personal side. It was a goal of mine to be a published author on a Major Publishing House, not just, you know, basically a self published author. So that, on a personal level, is just one of the things I've done so much. I wanted to take that next step in my career and and actually write a powerful, meaningful book for millions of people. Now, on a business level, why did I choose this book? I could have chosen several different things, like the story of my life, how I, you know, where I started to where I am. It's a book in itself. I could have wrote a book about business and success and making, you know, millions of dollars, but I chose the Google opoly for a couple of reasons. I really was just kind of just thinking it just, you know, all the stuff that I've learned over the years from when I was a kid growing up, and you know all the way that that I went on to the automotive industry and what made me successful at the dealership level, to the outside the automotive industry, working in the entertainment industry, what I saw there and then working with professional athletes. And you know, it's crazy. What I found is that a lot of people are struggling to have visibility and that kind of drips into other problems...

...that they can't sell a product, they can't sell a service, they can't build a fan base. But it when you when you drill it down, it's all because they lack visibility. So I thought, you know what, let me write this book about how, in such a noisy, sensory, over driven world that we live in, how could you stand out? How could you get maximum visibility? And and so, I mean you're no stranger to using different online resources to help people with visibility. But you talk about something in the book about, you know, this concept of page one dominance and and you know, if I understand correctly, you kind of have figured out the recipe to do so. What are some of the touch points that that those listening and should be focused on that they're going to learn about in the book to help them with this concept of page one dominance. Absolutely. This is why I call it Google appoly. You know, I call the the book. Win The game of Google apoly for two reasons. One, if you think of what a monopoly is, where you have a you have you have the whole section, you have the whole industry, you have a monopoly on something. I believe that Google has a monopoly on search engines. Okay, I believe that Google is the pre eminent position for an entity to provide information, more than Yahoo being a well emison ass jeeves, the yellow pages, encyclopedia Britannica, it's Google. So that's the first reason. The second thing you remember. I went back to the retro for you, Robert. You know, besides that, though, is that when you think of a monopoly board game, this is where I'm answering your question, in the game of monopoly, you cannot win the game of monopoly with just boardwalk, I mean the coveted boardwalk. It's four hundred bucks, it's fifty dollars rent if you land on there. And even, I challenge you, even if you have boardwalk and park place, you still might not be able to win...

...the game of monopoly. The reason being is it's not enough real estate. What you need to do in monopoly is to get as much real estate as possible, because the faster you gather real estate, the faster you can get your opponents to pay you rent. The more rent you get, the more you deplete their cash follest, so they can't buy you know, money. Plus you bank rust bankrupt them faster. same concept for Google. Current Mark Research shows a couple things that are amazingly powerful and needed for the public to know. Only five percent of people go past the first page of Google. Only five percent of people go pass the first page of Google. So if you are not on the first page of Google, you're freaking invisible. That's a problem. So with the concept of Google, apolies that you want to show up numerous times on the first page of Google. The more you show up, the less third party providers do. Less you know parasite companies and aggregators do, the less your competitors do. Your goals to show up numerous times in the first page of Google. If you only have a website, if you're lucky, you'll show up one time on the first page of Google, but if you use all the other Google real estate, which I'll get into it a minute, you could achieve Google opoly. Does that make sense? Absolutely. And I got a question going back to where you mentioned the Yahoo being in all those if you're taking those strategies and you were, you know, dominating Google and coming up on page one, Google does the the other search engines that you know? Does it affect your ranking there if you're ranking high and Google, do you think you're ranking high on being Yahoo, etc. Well, I'm going to answer that two weeks. First, as strong be rally than New Yorker. Who Cares? Okay, don't be distracted by things that are disguises opportunities. Google has sixty seven percent market share for search, so I really don't care what we'll ask jeeves a little yahoo's got to say. I'm going to put my whole entire strategy in Google. And then, on top of that, the second largest search engine is youtube, which is owned by Google. So, to be brutally honest, it doesn't...

...matter what anybody else is doing. The counterpoint will be, well, you know, they do have, you know, ten or twenty percent market who cares? Again, your time and energy is important. Time is money. You want to put your dollars and your time where're going to get the biggest bang for your back. But now to answer on a technical level and unemotional level. Yes, I personally believe if you develop good Google apoly strategies, if you turn and follow the rules of engagement that I've let that I've laid out in the win the game of Golopolately book those strategy, I think will be absorbed for a powerful being strategy or a powerful Yahoo strategy or a powerful, you know, ask Jeef strategy. But at the end of the day it really doesn't matter. What you want to do is just put all your tension and focus on Google. Don't worry about what the other search engines thinker care, you know, and that's that's a good point, because I think at the end of the day, whether it's Google, Yahoo, Ban is lycos even a thing, or ass jeeves, you know, what would they be without content? And I mean if you're producing content that that kind of covers, you know, the youtubes and and and your website and microscites or whatever it might be, and you're just doing as much as you can to soak up as much real estate well, by virtue of their objective of of, you know, having to show something. Of course, you know, it makes sense to me a good Google, a poly strategy will spill over to those other search engines, but Google, ultimately, like you said, Shawn, with sixty seven percent of search, should be your main focus. Now let me ask you this. I mean everybody loves a good success story. Do you have a story that you can share or an experience that you've had where using this strategy that you talked about in the book has had to really, you know, big, positive impact for somebody? Yes, besides myself, I've built a multimillion dollar company from scratch. I mean I started dealer synergy with with literally less than five thousand dollars, and three of it...

I borrowed from, you know, from friends. So again I dominate my industry. Didn't you write the business plan on a pizza box? And it's almost but there's probably a Napkin, but there's here's the aspect. Is that fast forward that I've own deal with energy for eleven years and I'm a small company, but I have about twenty five employees and we have zero sales people. A hundred and fifty percent of my business comes to us. I've got seventy five hundred published videos online. Just one of my nine YouTube channels, Shawnde Bradley TV, has one point three million views on one channel. I own the the whole automotive landscape for automotive Internet sales. If you google or you youtube, automotive Internet sales, Automotive Internet sales trainer. So it's not just dealer synergy or Shawn Be Bradley, which is completely saturated all over the search engines. But I own and dominate my niche and I use the whole Google opply strategy with video, video, Seo, social media, social media OPAS optimization, reputation optimization, mobile and everything in between, focus sites, microsites, even pseudocytes. So I dominate. But here's a here's a sexier one. My Wife. All right, Karina Bradley. Karina is my wife's stage name. OR NAME IS KAREN Bradley. If you just google her or just youtube her, you'll be two shot. We took an unknown recording artist and within three years from never being in this in recording studio, she has achieved over sixty million views online. Twenty million views on world star hiphop. She's got, you know, nine music videos with major label recording artist now that are hot right now, not back in the day, or has been and would be, like Meek Mill, Pat Poos Remy Mom, you know, Dj diamond cuts, young Chris Freeway. In addition to this, she's performed six times. She was interviewed or performed on shade forty five, which... MM's radio station, on serious satellite radio, in front of sixteen million people. She's been interviewed and performed live on CBS on Talk Philly, which is, you know, a proximate a million, you know, viewers. She's had, you know, TV commercials, radio commercials, all optimized. She's performed live, you know, in New York City and Atlantic City, in Los Angeles, you know, in front of thousands of people. On top of all this, which gets crazy, she's actually got bets spins, which means they're actually verified spins on FM radio. If you are a recording on ours and your song is on radio and FM, satellite would have you every single time any radio station plays it. It keeps track kind of like Nielsen Ratings, but for the each individual recording artist. She's had her songs license for major television networks like the style network for the TNTMARROW show. So how do you take grant to? My Wife is beautiful. She got a pop star voice, but let's be honest, there's a lot of beautiful people out there's a lot of great talent. Just look at American idol and you know the voice. How did she get that far? You know, reck deals on the table. It was in part because of the Google appely strategy. We had microsites, we had websites. We're doing flicker optimization, it's video optimizations, we were doing conquesting, and so, yes, we have a major success story in the entertainment industry. And then we've also currently working with current UFC fighter, undefeated UFC fighter, Paul the Dragon felder. I mean we were doing twitter campaigns, video campaigns and design in his website. So yes, this, this technology and strategy is not just for automotive sales or for major label recording artists or are for professional athletes. It's for anybody that wants visibility, anybody that needs to sell a product or service, anybody that wants to build a fan base needs to Google oup with the strategy that man I mean hell, I can attest. You know, Sean Pretty Much taught me how to do it and it's definitely open doors and created a lot opportunity visibility for me as well. How about the you know, the via,...

...the videos that we did for your Hunda Guy? Yeah, I mean how many of them? I mean so many, and that are still there today and it's been years since since we put them up. And they're like, you know, Google returns, you know, four to five million search results on ones that you search. You know, two thousand and thirteen Honda Chord Maryland, just the whole state of Maryland. It's still the number one, you know, organic slot on Google. Is that video, which I didn't even work for Honda. It's saying that the the the Sonatas better than the accord. Same with the civic and then just any other, you know, definitely with the makes and models that were in my market and it just allowed me to be have more, you know, visibility than my entire dealership did at the time. Well, and you know what, and to even just further what you're talking about here. I mean think of this right you're in Pennsylvania, I'm in British Columbia. Canada. I knew who you were because I had seen your videos. I'd been searching for who the movers and the shakers were in the car business, and I mean even the fact that we're working together today kind of came as a result of me being able to find you through Google. There's definitely no negatives that. I'm out of it now. So, I mean, so when the game of Google Appoly, I love what we're talking about. It's not about just having one property, it's not about just having one website correct. It's about, you know, utilizing youtube, it's about utilizing, you know, social yeah, you mentioned flicker. I mean there's so many things, I think you know, and correct me if I'm wrong, but there's so many properties out there that we don't even think about that will contribute to this concept of winning the game of Google apoly. where, I mean, let's talk to the automotive sales professional, because, since we're talking about Robert Sean and in your opinion, I...

...mean, where does an automotive sales professional get started? What's the first like, what's one thing they can do to really start jumping into this this Google apoly strategy? Well, I'm going to give you a couple answers to that. First, there's a couple different categories. You have individual automotive sales consultants, Automo of sales professionals. Then you've obviously got internet departments or BEDC's. You got digital marketing managers, Internet directors, then you've got the owners of the dealership and you even have the OEM's. Every one of them on a different level scalability. Wise, should be found the Google Empoli strategy. So I think obviously a website is really important because you want to be able to drive additional traffic. I talked about this in the book. Is that people don't understand that there's a difference between on site SEO and offsite Seo. My formula is twenty five percent of of a person or companies digital marketing strategy should be on site SEO. Seventy five percent of a person or company or entities digital marking strategy should be offset Seo. But don't don't minimize that twenty five percent. I believe that they should all start with a website. Oem's, dealerships, departments or individual sales consult in our hell, a real state agent or singer or public speaker. You should have a website. The website should be optimized the right way. So in chapter for my book I talk about the proper rules of engagement for Google, how to properly optimize for on site SEO. So that's one of the things I would do. Now, after you have a viable website that's optimized the correct way, you know, according to Google Webmaster guidelines, and to maximize the on site visibility. Now you want to do everything else. You want to diversify the way that you drive traffic, and what you want to do is try to if you just close your eyes, because I know this is a podcast, or should be easy, is, if you just close your eyes and just try to look at the ocean, think about how vast the ocean is. I mean the seventy percent of the earth, you know masses, is water. So try to meagine how big the ocean is. The ocean is the analogy to the Internet, the ocean of the Internet. Now can I mentioned being a roboat?...

Well, that's what you're freaking website is your rope. Your website is a rowboat in the ocean of the Internet. And if you only have your website, even if it's the best rowboat do? It's a rowboat. You know what I mean. What you need to do is be the Spanish Romata. Can you see the whole naval fleet? I'm talking about destroyers, carriers, submarines, even the little tugboats, all that stuff. That's all the off site Seo. And there's video seo. Video search engine optimization is by far the most powerful thing that anybody could do, automotive sales, professional dealer, O wem whatever, because it's free, or damn near free. You could use your cell phones video camera to create content, you can optimize it, run off your mold device and uploaded to youtube and you're good to go. But addition to that, it is what Google search engines are looking for. Let me explain. Video has one of the highest algorithm hit points, meaning if you've got a video that's optimized properly, compared to a virgin website with URL and brand new content, it's going to index faster and you're going to be able to have the added edge of having a thumbnail on page one or on the Google index page. And what's important about that? It's different if you're looking at ten top ten listings and one of them is a thumbnail. What do you think people are going to click through? Fifty three percent or fifty three times higher click through is a video and then a Dr mcqueby from force of research says that one minute video is equivalent to one point eight million words. We've heard of a pictures worth a thousand words. Well, one minute videos worth one point eight million words. So then you just kind of go down the line. you start with the website. Then you've got videos through video optimization, then social media, social media optimization. That means optimizing all the social content. Next would be reputation optimization, making sure that you have, you know, reviews on Google, reviews, yelp, reviews, merchand circle and she's list whatever, or even your own review blog, ABC motors are Shawn Bradley reviews and you could post them there. But having your reviews optimized, it's another, you know, Google, piece of real state. In addition to that, mobile optimization. And then you've got focus sites...

...and microsites. What is it focus site for a cardual? If I'm a car salesperson like Robert and I saw Honday's on the Honday guy and my one of my biggest competitors is the Honda Chord. I would like to own Honda a chord marylandcom and when somebody goes there it just shows every reason why the Honday Sonata is better than the accord. That's a focus site. Well, what's the what's The pseudocyite? A pseudocyite is if I am a car salesman or I am a dealership that's specialized in selling new Honday's, I might create auto credit approvedcom. Auto credit approvedcom is like a pseudonym. It's a pseudocyte. It's really owned by the salesperson or the dealership, but it has the perception that it is a special finance Lee generation site. It's like an auto treator, but local for bad credit. Does that make sense, guys? Yeah, absolutely so. I mean there's so much information here, which is probably a good segue for us to say, okay, listen. I mean you need to get your hands on this book. It's it's going to be all over the place, Shawn. Where's the book going to be for sale? Okay, first and foremost, I'm I just want to say I think Whiley publishing, I've got the best publishing house in the country, because then we've got some awesome distribution deals. You know, Google Changes Algorithms five to six hundred times a year, which is like twice a day mathematically speaking. Right. So what we did is we decided to build a complete back end. ...appoly. What you think, Michael? Well, you know I mean you you heard it. I've I've been privileged enough to work with Shan on this project. We did the Website Forum, I contributed to the book, but you know, it's really cool to have seen this project come together and to, you know, tap into Seawan's vision and to learn about. You heard him talk about but just to learn about, first for the first time, some of the success stories that he's had by implementing, you know, what he calls the Google Apolyi strategy. I really like that parallel that he draws between the game of monopoly and and why he's calling this Google appoly because a lot of people don't think. Hey, you know, I mean we see it all the time and what we do on a day to day basis. People say, yeah, I've got a website, that's good enough, or they say I'm doing social posting, that's enough, or or whatever it might be. But to understand that, you know, these are all moving pieces and there or they're they're separate properties that can be used to really dominate Google. It kind of has that new layer that people need to be thinking about. And then, once they're aware of all of these things, while how do I go about using them or implementing them into my marketing strategy to get the most out of it? Yeah, I mean definitely, and Sean is definitely, you know, the right person for this. I mean again, I owe a lot to you know where I am at, what I was able to accomplish too early on, you know, hooking up a shawn at him teaching me and showing me how to do you know that that, you know do optimize videos and and attack page one of Google.
